Good Friday

This video is sung by two of my favorite Christian artists - Mac Powell and Steven Curtis Chapman.  It's their song called By His Wounds.  Hope you enjoy it as I do!

We just came back from our Good Friday Service and the choir sang another beautiful song, Were You There, When They Crucified My Lord?   This song always brings tears to my eyes because it brings to my full attention, would I have been one of his disciples?  Or one of the Jewish mob who didn't believe in Him?  Who didn't recognize him for the Messiah?  I fervently pray that I would have been like Mary Magdalene  and followed Jesus.

Have a Blessed Easter!

  1. We also sang "Were you There When They Crucified My Lord", yesterday - Good Friday. Actually the choir sang so many stirring hymns while we venerated the Cross. They were a lot of people and it took a very long time. As we were leaving the church, I felt like we'd all been very patient with each other. Everyone was very polite waiting their turn to go out of the church, no one thinking of themselves. Sometimes it is good to have to wait instead of rush, rush, rush through Mass as quickly as possible.

And yes, I also hope I'd have been there at the foot of the cross. I guess we were in a way, as time has no meaning to God and we suffered with Jesus yesterday as we remembered the crucifixion. And even if we'd failed Jesus, God can put things right. What we feel today is what matters. It's never too late. Isn't that wonderful to know? God bless you!

  2. Really puts into perspective what Jesus did for us. We are so very blessed to serve a living God, a God who loves and forgives us. Thanks for stopping by and thanks for sharing this video. I also posted a video for Revelation Song, what a very awesome video. Have a blessed Easter weekend.
    God Bless,
    Shelley

  3. HI Noreen,
I love this song too, but I have never seen this video to go with it. So beautiful and thank you for sharing! I love the song "Were You There..." also and like you, I often wonder how I would have reacted to the miracles, passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus. I pray I would have followed Jesus then as I strive to do now. God bless and Happy Easter!

  4. This was the first Good Friday that my son was an altar server and one of his jobs was to hold the cross that was venerated by the parishioners. I was so proud of him! Have a Blessed Easter my blogging friends!
