My Letter to Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky

Dear Senator Schakowsky,

I am writing to respectfully request that you vote yes to H.R.3.  This major piece of legislation would establish a permanent, government-wide prohibition of federal funding for abortions.

As you should know, Planned Parenthood provides the majority of all abortions done here in the United States and throughout the world, and they've proven themselves to be a corrupt organization that is deceiving the public and harming women.  They claim they believe in "a woman's right to choose."  But have you seen the footage from Live Action that clearly shows Planned Parenthood's cover up of racism and sex trafficking of minors?  Over 97% of all women who enter Planned Parenthood pregnant will not leave their appointment still pregnant. Only 2% of pregnant women give their babies up for adoption through Planned Parenthood.

Your comments written on April 14, 2011 regarding your support of Planned Parenthood are disturbing.  Do you know who you are supporting?  You've stated "House Republicans have made their extreme agenda abundantly clear – undermine women’s access to reproductive health care and attack the local women’s health providers they rely on to provide cancer screenings, routine gynecological examinations, contraceptive services, immunizations, and testing and treatment for sexually-transmitted infections.

One in five American women has received care from a Planned Parenthood health center at some point in her life, making it one of the largest women’s health care providers in the country. Planned Parenthood clinics serve over 3 million Americans every year and plays a critical role in our nation’s health care system. The Republican budget would deny them any funding."

The fight is not about women's reproductive health.  It's about abortion.   You don't even mention that in your statement.  Have you even looked at Planned Parenthood's website?  They state boldy "There are two kinds of abortion in the U.S. — in-clinic abortion and the abortion pill.  Abortions are very common. In fact, more than 1 out of 3 women in the U.S. have an abortion by the time they are 45 years old."  I'm not making this up, it's taken right from Planned Parenthood's website.  You can not separate the agenda of Planned Parenthood and abortion when they themselves make the above comment.

You're supporting an abortion mill, pure and simple.  Maybe you don't see the killing of the unborn as wrong, I don't know?  But please lets be honest and tell your constituents your view on abortion.  To me, your answer is paramount for this will indicate where you are morally and whether I can place my trust in you to represent me.

Thank you for your time in this matter.  For more information on the corruptions I cited above, please visit:

Sincerely Yours,
Noreen Johnson
