Jerry Springer: the Opera

The blasphemy continues on and on... first I learned of Alma Lopez's blasphemous picture of Our Lady Here and I sent an e-protest for her.  And today, I learned of the blasphemous show, Jerry Springer: the Opera that mocks Jesus and His Mother.
I'm well aware of Jerry Springer's "work" over the years as an "tv entertainer" if you can call him that.  I've never approved of his tv shows for the obvious reasons but this is going way too far.  I'm going to try and reach him personally assuming he has his own facebook page or blog.  Please read the below message from America Needs Fatima:

Catholics launch wave of Protest against the blasphemous show "Jerry Springer: the Opera"
Catholics are encouraged to send an instant e-protest message to the Chance Center in Anaheim, California – because they're showing the Southern California premiere of Jerry Springer: The Opera, which is full of profanity, nudity and blasphemous content. Some examples are:
  • The Crucifixion is mocked and the Eucharist is trashed
  • There is a lady singing "Jerry eleison" (mocking the Mass: Kyrie Eleison)
  • Jesus is introduced as "the hypocrite son of the fascist tyrant on high." He wears a diaper, is fat and effeminate and later admits: "Actually, I am a bit gay."
  • Eve gropes Jesus in a manner too indecent to describe while the Annunciation is described as a rape.
  • God is a fat man in a white suit who complains about being blamed for everyone's problems.  He invites Jerry Springer to join Him to "sit in Heaven beside me, hold my hand and guide me."  At the end, Jerry emerges as the true savior of mankind.
The "opera" has earned its blasphemous reputation. In London, the debut was the subject of a libel suit for defaming Christians.  When it was to be aired on the BBC, it drew more than 60,000 complaints.
As Catholics, you and I cannot accept such insults to Our Lord and the Catholic Faith!  That's why I ask you to please send a protest message via email to the Chance Theater today.
For the love of Our Lord and the Catholic Church, please send your message today, and consider forwarding this email to all the Catholics you know.

My sisters in Christ, please let us raise our voices and protest this blasphemous act against Jesus and Our Lady!

  2. Thanks for posting this, Noreen. I sent my protest as well. It is just awful and makes me sick to my stomach. They must be so full of hate for Catholics and all Christians. I would not have known about this if you hadn't posted, so thanks!

  5. I didn't know about this. Thanks for creating awareness. I marvel that people aren't frightened to portray Christ and His Church in such a way. I was frightened just reading about it. I'm just one, but if each of us will protest the good will be heard.

    Blessings,
    Pamela

  6. It is really disturbing that people would go to such great lengths to insult God by insulting His Son and Mary! They're living for the moment and not thinking about their eternal life. If they believe in life after death.

Lynda - my prayers are with you and your family as you know. I hope all matters have are in place for you and you're at peace with it!

Pamela - I agree, that we have to act on it and have our voices heard! If the majority of our nation's citizens are Christian, I'm just baffled that this kind of thing could even happen. Our ancestors would NEVER have tolerated such blasphemy!
