Devotional

I loved my devotional from yesterday and wanted to share it.

"I SPEAK TO YOU FROM THE DEPTHS OF YOUR BEING.  Hear Me saying soothing words of Peace, assuring you of My Love.  Do not listen to voices of accusation, for they are not from Me.   I speak to you in love-tones, lifting you up.  My Spirit convicts cleanly, without crushing words of shame.  Let the Spirit take charge of your mind, combing out tangles of deception.  Be transformed by the truth that I live within you.

The Light of My Presence is shining upon you, in benedictions of Peace.  Let My Light shine in you; don't dim it with worries or fears.  Holiness is letting Me live through you.  Since I dwell in you, you are fully equipped to be holy.  Pause before responding to people or situations, giving My Spirit space to act through you.  Hasty words and actions leave no room for Me; this is atheistic living.  I want to inhabit all your moments-gracing your thoughts, words, and behavior.

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.    Romans 8:1-2

To them God has chosen to make known among the gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.   Colossians 1:27

For Reflection:  Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; you were bought at a price.  Therefore honor God with your body.    1 Corinthians 6:19

God Bless,
Noreen

Noreen ~ those words really jumped out at me as I've seen this in action more times than I care to recall. I'm sure that I've even done it at times with the end result being things are worse as they were not blessed.

    Thanks for sharing this devotional.

I'm with Laura, that really caught me too.

It reminded me of a quote from St. Bernadette, which also grabbed my attention:
"It's not the first response to a situation, but the second that is ours to own." (Paraphrased)

I guess that's something I need to work on! I tend to be compulsive in most everything!

  3. I agree with you ladies about that sentence jumping out at me. And I love St. Bernadette's statement as well. Thank you for sharing that Patty!

  4. Hi Noreen,
    I loved this devotional reading!
Is this a book you are studying or are the words given to you personally from the Lord?
It's so similar to how He speaks to me too.

Noreen have you heard of the new blog for Catholic women bloggers? http://associationofcatholicwomenbloggers.blogspot.com
Jackie Parkes is looking for blog authors to contribute to it and I think you might find it interesting.
You will see me there on the side bar listed as In Her Heart (my little prayer/contemplation blog).

Hope to see you for Lace again and yes! that's my hubby and me in the old photo taken at a fancy dress party 30 years ago :-)
God bless you my friend..have a great weekend

  5. Hi Trish,
I loved the devotional too but it's not my words. I have a devotional book called 40 Days with Jesus Celebrating His Presence by Sarah Young.

I have not heard of this new blog and will definitely check it out. Thanks for letting me know!

I will be on LACE again, I just hadn't posted anything this Wednesday so I had nothing to link up :)

  6. " Hasty words and actions leave no room for Me; this is atheistic living."

This jumped out at me because living without Christ/God is truly atheistic living, which leads to the only logical end of that type of life - real death for all eternity. Man becomes God to himself. What an incentive to pray for the conversion of others and to live in a way that attracts others to Christ.

  7. This is such a beautiful reflection and something I needed to hear. Thank you for sharing on NOBH! I need a devotional book. So you like this one by Sarah Young? It looks to be a great one! I'll have to look into getting one.
