21st Anniversary

21 years ago today, marks the anniversary of my mom's death.
I still cannot believe she's gone.
She didn't see me graduate from college.
She's never met my husband or son.
She's been gone for almost half of my life.
Just amazing.  And I still think of her every day!

Almost 6 months ago, my dad joined her in Heaven.
Even though I'm a grown up and have been for many years,
it's an odd abandoned-like feeling.
I'm not an orphan but in a way, it feels that way.

I love you mom.
I love you dad.
Pray for us!

May God bless my siblings and I as we remember this day.
May Our Blessed Mother hold us tightly as we remember.

Blessings,
Noreen

  1. Prayers and hugs coming your way. The pain of losing a parent never goes away. And it is definitely a "club" that none of us want to join, and once you are a member, it's forever. After I lost my father, (and still had my mother), I had that orphan feeling, too. My mother is in her 70's and I pray that we have her around for a long time more. May the Lord bless you today and send rays of sunshine pouring down upon you!

  4. Noreen,

I am praying for you. Even though we can be separated by death, we don't stop loving. Our love in fact keeps growing. What a day it will be when you are reunited and your mother gets to meet your husband and son.

Andy often talks about being an orphan. Unlike him, I still have both my parents whom Andy now regards as his parents. I guess we all need parents even when we are grown up and have families of our own. I hope you have a loving mother-in-law to ease the pain of not having your own mother here on earth.

We need our mothers. May Mother Mary pray for you.

    God bless!
