Noah's Ark Cookie Recipe

Yesterday I reviewed this fun and educational activity book for Kregel Publications.

Inside this book is a recipe to make your own Noah's Ark cookie so I opted to test it out.

Here are the ingredients and steps:

Here is my final result!

Recipe:

Mix together in a bowl:
2 cups of flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger

Melt together in a separate bowl:
8 tbl of butter
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tbl dark molasses

Pour the melted combination into the dry ingredients bowl and mix.
Stir into a lump and then chill in the fridge.

Roll out the lump on a piece of baking paper.
Cut an ark shape.
Pull away the rest of the dough and lift the ark and paper on to a baking pan.
Bake for about 10 minutes at 325 degrees.
Let cool and then decorate with frosting, icing, candy...etc.

You will have enough dough to make more shapes.

I linked up this post to Lisa's Try a New Recipe Tuesday.

Blessings,
Noreen

  2. Your cookies turned out so cute! It does look like a complicated shape to produce though- did you use a cookie cutter?!?!!? Without one, I fear I would end up with a cookie that looked more like lopsided canoe than an ark! :)

    1. I did not have a cookie cutter so I used my pizza pizza cutter and did the best I could :) You should try it and see how it comes out. Or have the kids shape it.

I realized a while ago that I have not seen your posts and thought you were taking a blogging break, but then looked at my blogroll and saw that you HAVE been blogging and I'm missing. I guess I could always forego the email posts and just click thru from my own blog's roll.....
Just wanted to stop in and say HI.
